The capacity of batteries can drop significantly for a number of reasons before their calculated life expectancy is reached. Battery capacity should thus be checked to prevent expensive downtime in the event of a power failure. The most reliable and best established way to determine the condition and capacity of battery systems is to conduct a discharge test.
TORKEL Battery Load Unit is designed portable, robust, lightweight, small and easy to operate for on-site battery capacity / discharge test. If higher current is needed for big capacity of battery, two or more TORKEL units or extra loads TXL can be linked together.
Testing methods can be conducted at constant current, constant resistance, constant power, current profile or power profile.
TORKEL Available Models
TORKEL 820 - TELECOM features a unique design that combines efficiency with portability. Using TORKEL 820 you can discharge 24V and 48V batteries at a current of 270A, and 12V batteries at 135A.
TORKEL 840 - UTILITY is used for battery systems ranging from 12V to 250V with discharge current up to 110A, often encountered in switchgear and similar equipment.
TORKEL 860 - MULTI is used for battery systems ranging from 12V to 480V, and discharging can proceed at up to 110A.
